How did you learn how to type?

I find it difficult to type in a manner with the 8 fingers on the home keys. It just doesn’t feel comfortable for me. I also have to look at the keyboard to type, which sucks, because I wish I could type without having to look at the keyboard. How did you all learn how to type accurately and with speed, and any good tips in helping me remember the keys without having to look at them?
